Bodega del Sur wines represent the finest vintage produced in California’s Sierra Foothills. Our wines come from local grapes, planted by local growers, and harvested under

the meticulous care of our winemaker, Chuck Hovey. The unique climate of the area produces grapes that are extremely close to the best grown in the Southern Mediterranean -- with flavors to match.

With these superb conditions and our outstanding winemaker, Bodega Del Sur's wines achieved top level recognition this year.   Our 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon won the GOLD MEDAL - Best of Class - Sierra Foothills at the 2009 California State Fair.  Many are ordering this fabulous wine, so don't delay for it is selling fast.
Other award winning achievements include, our 2008 Verdelho's gold medal at the 2009 Calaveras County Fair and our 2007 Carmesi's "Gold - Best in Class" medal at the 2009 Amador County Fair.   For a complete list of our award winners click here

We are thankful for this year's achievements, and we celebrated it and shared it..(e.g."SAVE THE DATE", Grape Stomp, Winemaker Brunch, December Wine Tasting) with family, friends, tasting room visitors and wine club members.
We also "paid it forward" by donating part of the proceeds from the " 2007 Carmesi" to charitable organizations that assist women (and their children) in need.
This wine, the " Carmesi" is very special to us... it is dedicated to our mothers who influence and infuse our lives and who remain forever in our hearts.

As we move into 2010, with eyes upon our Mountain Winery...waiting and watching for the "new releases"... think 2008 Marsanne. It is sure to be a "delight" in our tasting room.

Unfortunately, the 2006 Sangiovese is only available to wine club members, but it is served in the tasting room on the weekends.  We are currently sold out of our 2006 Chardonnay, but hope to have its' replacement sometime soon.

Lastly, all of our wines may be purchased at our tasting room, or online at www.bodegadelsur.com.  Prices range between $18.00 and $30.00 per bottle. Actual shipping charges are added for online purchases, with no handling charges.
